A few months ago Aunt Betty asked if we knew the other verses to Jesus Loves Me - she mentioned it was written with a dying child in mind...I've been so busy that I hadn't had time to look it up and then this morning I saw the card she wrote us which included verses 2-4. I immediately stopped what I was doing and after reading it I had to share the verses.
V2:
Jesus love me! He who died,
Heaven's gate to open wide,
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little children come in.
V3:
Jesus loves me! Loves me still,
Tho' I'm very weak and ill,
From his shining throne on high,
Comes to watch ms where I lie.
V4:
Jesus loves me! He will stay,
Close beside me all the way,
If I love him till I die,
He will take me home on high.
I'm so thankful Jesus loves Cash! Thank you god for your amazing love and power and for sending Jesus to experience our pains and ultimately free us from this body when we meet you in heaven!

Amazing verses Jack -- so often we only focus on the first one. Thanks for reminding that the children of God are more important than anything. Prayers for you all -- love you so much. Michael, Kat and RoxAnn
ReplyDeleteWe are continuing to pray for a miracle, knowing God's Will will be done. Your assured faith is amazing. We are lifting you up!
ReplyDeleteFrom Susan Mullen:
ReplyDeleteHere are a couple more verses, from a book on "Project Gutenberg" called Say and Seal, Volume II, by Susan Warner and Anna Warner.
Was it wearily that the song was given? Faith could not tell,--she
could not name those different notes in the voice, she could only feel
that the octave reached from earth to heaven.
"'How kind is Jesus, Lord of all!
To hear my little feeble call.
How kind is Jesus, thus to be
Physician, Saviour, all to me!
'How much he loves me he doth shew;
How much he loves I cannot know.
I'm glad my life is his to keep,
Then he will watch and I may sleep.
'Jesus on earth, while here I lie;
Jesus in heaven, if I die:
I'm safe and happy in his care,
His love will keep me, here or there.
'An angel he may send for me,
And then an angel I shall be.
Lord Jesus, through thy love divine,
Thy little child is ever thine.'"
That last verse from Susan Mullen!!! Wow!
ReplyDeleteLove you all and still praying for that miracle! I know you are so strong in faith and your words are very comforting to those of us blessed to be relatives and/or friends. Know you and your entire family are being prayed for by relatives here, in California!!Stay strong!!

Love all the versus to Jesus loves me. In the past week, there's another song that keeps coming to my mind, “His banner over me is love!”
ReplyDeleteThe Lord is mine and I am His,
His banner over me is love.
He brought me to His banqueting table,
His banner over me is love.
He lifted me up into heavenly places,
His banner over me is love.
He is the vine and we are the branches,
His banner over me is love.
Jesus is the rock of my salvation,
His banner over me is love.
There’s one way to peace through the power of the cross,
His banner over me is love.
Jack and Wendi, my thoughts and prayers are continually with you, sweet little Cash, his brothers and grandparents.
Love,
Debi (Vander Meulen)
Thinking of and praying for all of you!
