I finally was able to load the slide show from Cash's memorial service up to youtube.com. I'm sorry it took so long, the file is very large and without a solid internet connection it proved to be a challenge. Anyhow, if you were unable to attend Cash's service, the slideshow is below (and available in HD on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-x0R6jnIU3E)
I still have difficulty watching it, however, I listen to the music from the slideshow almost every day. The music was taken from Johnny Cash's 'My Mother's Hymnbook', which was released in 2004. The music was recorded when Johnny was late in his years and has a beautiful, somber tone, that draws me closer to God and at the same time reminds me of our son, who was named after Johnny Cash. I think back to the service and probably could have watched it and listened to the music two or three more times.
Please forward this to anyone who wasn't at the service that may want to watch it - Cash was a beautiful little boy and we continue to be thankful he's with Jesus and cancer-free.

Hi I came from pw after seeing the adorable photo. I then watched the beautiful blog and had to let you know you are in our prayers and God does give strength.
ReplyDeleteI'm here from PW's photos of brothers. If you haven't read "Heaven is for Real" it will be a comfort to you. A pastor's little boy died but came back and was able to share such wonderful glimpses of Heaven. You are in my prayers believing the sweet Holy Spirit will comfort you like never before.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your story, your family, and your love. You're an inspiration
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me but I wanted to reach out and express my deepest sympathies to your family. I found this after reading about your photo on the Pioneer Woman.
ReplyDeleteI too learned of your blog from Pioneer Woman's Brothers photos. I read the entire blog over about a day and a half. What an inspiration! Your family's optimism and faith in God surely brought you all through this heartwrenching ordeal. I wish I had had the opportunity to meet Cash, although I feel as if I know him and your family. May God continue to bless you, Wendi, Jack Jr, Kingston and the rest of your family.
ReplyDeleteMy deepest sympathies at the loss of your beautiful son. I saw the pictures on The Pioneer Woman, beautiful picture. I cannot even begin to say how beautiful your words are, esp. about your faith, and the strength to just believe in God's will. I was having a rough day, and your strength helped me to put things in perspective. I'm a single mom with few friends and support, and beautiful kids, and although times are a struggle, I've always remembered that God takes care of all of us, and He has always provided. My heart and prayer is with you both as parents, who have seen the biggest loss a parent can experience, and may God always bless your home with love, peace, and happy times. Amen.
ReplyDeleteA PW reader too...the photo captured my heart. Cash is such a beautiful little boy and I know is being held by arms of Jesus. Praying for your family...that you may continue to be held in strength and peace by our Father's right hand and carried in His arms when the load is heavy.
ReplyDeleteHello wonderful family of Cash,
ReplyDeleteGrace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ. I found your blog from the post on the pioneerwoman. I commented on an older post, not knowing of the current news. I wanted to thank you for being such a testimony to Jesus Christ. Your faith and attitude move me to tears. I am praying that the Lord keeps you in His perfect peace and that you know Him more and more. God bless you and your family.
